Green plumage and an elaborate riding presentation make Swift Green Hawkstrider a colorful alternative to the Horde's wolves and kodos. It keeps the distinctive blood elf riding-bird silhouette, especially useful for a character whose outfit needs something brighter than a dark war mount.

The source is still a racial gold purchase. The important modern detail is distinguishing the Burning Crusade version of Eversong Woods from Midnight's updated region before following old coordinates.

Quick Answer

Buy Swift Green Hawkstrider, item 29223, from Winaestra at Thuron's Livery in Eversong Woods (Burning Crusade), around 61.0, 54.6. The base price is 10 gold. Blood elves have racial access; other eligible Horde buyers need Silvermoon City Exalted. Purchase and use the item. It remains obtainable in Retail as a Horde ground mount.

Mount Overview

This is a Swift racial hawkstrider, separate from the ordinary colors and other green riding birds in newer collections. Its more elaborate equipment is the reason to choose it rather than a simpler hawkstrider.

It cannot fly. The bird model and feather display do not change its ground-mount category. Nor does Swift grant an extra current speed tier beyond the character's applicable riding rules.

The correct collection entry is Swift Green Hawkstrider, learned through spell 35025. Newer Silvermoon renown mounts have separate names, currencies, and acquisition requirements.

How to Get Swift Green Hawkstrider

Select the easiest buyer

Use an existing blood elf who can reach the vendor if possible. Its racial purchase route avoids a fresh Silvermoon City Exalted grind.

Another Horde character already Exalted with Silvermoon City is also suitable. Learn the item on a qualified buyer once; eligible Horde alts use the shared collection without buying another copy.

Enter the legacy region

In Orgrimmar's portal room, use the lower-floor portal explicitly labeled Silvermoon City (Burning Crusade). Do not choose the Midnight destination and then expect old Eversong coordinates to line up.

Another route uses Zidormi at Thalassian Pass on the northern edge of Eastern Plaguelands, around 53.8, 8.8. Choose the dialogue to visit Eversong Woods and Ghostlands during the Burning Crusade era, then travel through the preserved old region.

These are routes into historical zones within current Retail. You do not need to log into a separate Classic game version.

Find Thuron's Livery

From old Silvermoon, leave into Eversong Woods and follow the nearby road toward Thuron's Livery east of the city entrance. Winaestra stands outside near the hawkstriders around 61.0, 54.6.

Read her Hawkstrider Breeder name and open the mount stock. A dragonhawk flightmaster nearby offers a different service; a group of riding birds alone does not identify the right NPC.

Purchase and learn

Select Swift Green Hawkstrider, verify it is uncollected, and pay the displayed price. Bring 10 gold to cover the base amount. Use the item from your bags and confirm the journal entry.

There is no egg to hatch, profession recipe, or follow-up training quest. Buying the finished mount item is the acquisition's final step.

Midnight Location Clarification

Winaestra also appears in Midnight's Silvermoon Royal Exchange. Current player reports identify her modern location around 67.1, 66.1 as another purchase stop, but those coordinates belong to the new city map, not old Eversong.

If you are already there, inspect her merchant stock for the exact item. The legacy route above identifies the original shop and remains available when you want to follow the named older vendor source without mixing the maps.

Do not interpret new Silvermoon Court renown as the old Silvermoon City racial reputation. They are different progression systems.

Reputation Route for Other Horde Races

Buy the Silvermoon City Tabard from Magistrix Nizara, with a legacy appearance near old Silvermoon's entrance. Equip the actual tabard during eligible legacy dungeon clears, rather than only applying its wardrobe appearance.

Normal Botanica in Netherstorm, Outland, is a practical repeatable choice. Reach its floating entrance near Tempest Keep, select Normal difficulty, and check that kills award Silvermoon City reputation.

Clear the dungeon, take the exit after the final boss, leave, and reset through the character portrait menu. Repeat within normal entry limits until Exalted. Heroic has a daily lockout and is not the same repeated-clear plan.

Check existing standing first and use actual gains rather than a universal run count. At Exalted, return to Winaestra and make the purchase. Tranquillien reputation does not replace Silvermoon City despite misleading old comments.

Requirements and Price

The buyer needs Horde eligibility, blood elf racial access or Silvermoon City Exalted, access to the correct merchant, sufficient gold, and ordinary ground-riding eligibility.

The base item costs 10 gold. With a normal 20-percent Exalted discount it becomes 8 gold. Blood elves can already shop through racial access, so the discount is not a mandatory grind for them.

No profession, PvP rating, raid achievement, or modern renown currency is required. Old restrictions preventing tauren from buying hawkstriders are historical, not the current general Horde reputation route.

Collection Tips

Check the exact full name before paying. Ordinary Blue Hawkstrider and the other Swift colors are separate entries, and learning one does not teach a whole color set.

Do not buy duplicates merely because the mount looks unavailable on an Alliance alt. Shared collection ownership does not remove the faction restriction of this specific racial bird.

If stock is refused, confirm the buyer's race and legacy Silvermoon City standing. If the NPC location seems wrong, confirm the map version before changing your reputation plan.

Is It Still Obtainable?

Yes. The Retail racial purchase remains available. The preservation of old Eversong provides an explicit merchant route after Midnight's world changes. This is not a retired arena or seasonal reward.

Transmog Pairings

Green feathers suit jewel-toned cloth, blood elf plate with green accents, and playful traveling sets. The older model is conspicuous without adding the scale of a giant flying mount, making it useful when the rider should still be visible.
